I attended the "2 stars: NET 2.0" course in the year 2005 thanks to the "CU.NET" program (University course .NET in Spanish), offered by Microsoft to universities. In my case it was the Faculty of Engineering at University of Buenos Aires ("FIUBA").

For weeks I had been planning to make contact with the .NET proposed in version 2.0. It was then when I received an email from the Student Ambassadors with information about a free workshop that would be hosted at the same faculty. I was interested in the workshop materials, but as a matter of fact, the possibility of getting a Microsoft certification after passing the exam was what called my attention the most. Honestly, I had no idea of how that would impact in my professional career, but I felt that it was something positive. I attended the workshop, which by the way, it was quite dynamic and didactic, and passed the exam smoothly, obtaining the 2 stars certification.

Today I look back and I think about how important my decision was, because thanks to that certification I entered Microsoft job opportunities system where the most recognized companies publish their job offers. I focused all my job searches on that direction and that is how I found an opportunity at my present job and I am very thankful now.

In conclusion, it seems to me that the time devoted to get ready for the exam paid off. It is a great opportunity and it is available for everyone; certainly not an opportunity to let go. The best part was when I started working at the Company: I discovered a great team-work environment, plenty of growth opportunities for people like me, interested in the newest technologies.
